One thumb is all it takes

Just pick a direction — attacks fire on their own. Each run lasts 8 minutes; hold out until dawn and the boss appears.

Pair them up, wake your weapon

Pick a card every time you level up. Raise a weapon to Lv 5, add its paired support, and a scroll unlocks its evolution. There are 24 evolved weapons.

Overcome the 12 Zodiac Guardians

Every map has a Guardian with its own tricks. Boars charge, serpents coil, horses stampede across the field. Raise the difficulty (Dawn tier) and the true Guardian appears instead of a clone.

Etch that night on the screen

Each Dawn tier you clear fills one more panel of the folding screen, and the wayfarer who held the night is etched into the painting.

三 Paths

Three paths to grow stronger each night

Within a run, build a Five Elements school. Across runs, grow your Secret Arts and Mastery.

At Lv 5, choose one of five schools. The same weapon fights differently depending on your school.

木 Wood · Branch · spread

Every hit sends leaves splitting off toward nearby yokai.

火 Fire · Build up, then burst

Hit the same yokai enough times and it bursts into flame.

土 Earth · Zone · hold

Earth circles form where yokai fall; yokai inside are slowed and take more damage.

金 Metal · Focus · pierce

Stronger vs bosses·elites, and every 5th hit on the same yokai is critical.

水 Water · Flow · soak

A water trail follows your path, soaking yokai — soaked yokai take more damage.

The 12 Zodiac Guardians have elements too. Face them with a countering school to deal 30% more damage.木 → 土 → 水 → 火 → 金 → 木

Every wayfarer has a Secret Arts board for each of the five elements. Clear nights with that school as that wayfarer to unlock slots one by one.

Mind Arts

Unlocked when you first clear a map. Each wayfarer has five tiers; pick one of two branches per tier to build a fighting style all their own.
